Mayor DeRemer’s primary goal as an elected official is to balance residential services with the tax base. The Mayor is active in the community, and has an extensive history of public service, including: Happy Valley Parks Committee, 2002-2003, Happy Valley City Council, 2004-2007, Happy Valley City Council President, 2007-2010, Happy Valley Mayor, 2010-present, Clackamas County Coordinating Committee(C4), 2004-present, C4 Executive Board and Co-Chair, 2011-2015, Metro Policy Advisory Committee (MPAC), 2011-2015, Institute of Metropolitan Studies (IMS) through PSU, 2014-present, JPACT alternate for Clackamas County cities, 2015-present, Metropolitan Mayors Consortium (MMC), League of Oregon Cities Board of Directors, 2015-2017.

Markley Drake has been a member of the City Council for 10 years, and is currently in his third term of office. Markley is currently the Council liaison to the Traffic and Public Safety Committee and served on the Happy Valley Parks Committee and the Planning Commission in the past.

Markley sits on several County Committees, including the Riverhealth Advisory Board, Regional Wastewater Advisory Committee, the County Local Public Safety Coordinating Council, and C-4.

Markley was raised in the Portland area, and has lived in Happy Valley with his family for over 30 years. In the 1980s, he designed and built a solar house and still lives there today.

Markley and his wife have traveled extensively, domestically and abroad, but two of their favorite places to visit, Timberline Lodge and Cannon Beach, are close to home.

Originally from Minnesota, Brett received a degree in Mathematics from the University of Minnesota. In 2002, Brett and his family, wife Stacy and daughter MacKenzie, moved to Happy Valley.

Brett has spent the last 27 years in the investment industry, currently as the Principal at Madrona Wealth Management, LLC and is a member in good standing with the Investment Management Consultants Association.

An avid hiker, Brett assumed the administrator role of the local hiking group, Happy Valley Hikers, in 2006. Brett’s other interests include biking, photography, music, movies, and service as a Rotarian.« Less

His service to the community includes volunteering on the Happy Valley Traffic and Public Safety Committee, coaching local youth sports, volunteering on the PTO, past President of the Happy Valley Business Alliance and past Chair of the North Clackamas County Chamber of Commerce.
