With the safety of residents, visitors, vendors, and staff in mind, the City of Happy Valley has elected to cancel this year’s Oktoberfest event and prioritize the health of community.

With continued high levels of COVID cases, the Oregon Healthy Authority has reinstated safety regulations and is discouraging large, in person gatherings. While the City looked at several alternative ways to bring this family-friendly event to fruition, it concluded it is simply unable to ensure an enjoyable and safe experience for all, while also remaining fiscally responsible.

The City would like to acknowledge this situation is incredibly disappointing. The City had been planning Oktoberfest for quite some time and was eager to welcome residents and visitors alike to this event. It was not an easy decision by any means, but one that was made in the best interest of public health.

The City is looking forward to bringing more community events to Happy Valley as soon as possible.  In the meantime, residents are encouraged to stay tuned for event updates and announcements by following the City of Happy Valley Facebook page or visiting www.happyvalleyor.gov.
