Every two years in January, the City holds a swearing-in ceremony for newly elected or re-elected City Council members. Tonight, incumbent David Golobay took the Oath of Office and was officially sworn in for his new term. The Oath of Office was also administered for newly elected City Councilor, Glenn Wachter. This important occasion marks both Councilors’ commitment to uphold and defend the laws and represent all residents of Happy Valley to the best of their ability.
Additionally, Councilor Joshua Callahan, who participated virtually this evening, was nominated and unanimously voted in as the new Council President. In practice, the Council President presides over meetings and events when the Mayor is absent.
