Congratulations to our 2025 “If I Were Mayor” contest winners.
Jordan Aguilar, a 4th grader from Verne Duncan Elementary, was the winner from the poster category. Vera Davis, an 8th grader from Cedarcrest Homeschool, won in the essay category, and Kelvin Chen, a senior at Clackamas High School, won in the digital media category.
The contest challenges students to share their creative ideas about what they would do as mayor. All three students conveyed in their submissions the importance of community and providing a welcoming environment for those that live here.
Jordan, Vera, and Kelvin were recognized at last night’s City Council meeting and were each presented with a formal certificate and a $100 cash prize.
