SUMMARY:Scouters Mountain Neighborhood Park Grand Opening
DESCRIPTION:Happy Valley is getting a new park\, and you’re invited to celebrate its grand opening! Located east of 145th Avenue and Scouters Mountain Road\, the new neighborhood park will feature an all-abilities playground\, a mobility charging station\, a tennis/pickleball court\, a picnic shelter\, restrooms and walking trails. Additionally\, there will be a dog park for Happy Valley’s furriest residents. \nThe grand opening for the park will take place on Tuesday\, Aug. 11\, from 10 a.m. until noon at 10478 S.E. Hornaday Avenue. The City’s Parks and Recreation staff will be on hand with the RecMobile to offer fun programming and activities for kids. Mayor Tom Ellis\, members of the city council and city staff will kick off the event with a ribbon-cutting celebration. \nThe Scouters Mountain Neighborhood Park\, like all parks in Happy Valley\, will be maintained thanks to the Happy Valley Parks Levy. The levy\, which is voted on by Happy Valley residents every five years\, supports park maintenance\, recreational programming and community events within the city. \nAll residents are welcome to attend the grand opening and enjoy Happy Valley’s newest park!
