Hello Happy Valley, Mayor Tom Ellis here. I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone in our community for making the most of this time. It’s been great to see residents write positive messages in chalk on the sidewalk, post their kids’ drawings in windows, and continue to spread a sense of community. As we get ready for some beautiful spring weather, I want to remind everyone to continue to practice social distancing at all times. Exercise is vital to protecting our health and well being, and I believe it’s a crucial component to getting through this. My wife and I have taken many walks in and around the Park over the last few weeks and it’s become an important part of our day because it gives us a way to stay active and optimistic amid everything going on.
As you do this, remember to stay six feet away from others who are not in your immediate household and remember to make some extra room so others can pass. In these challenging times, I know our residents can work together to ensure we all have a chance to enjoy the outdoor spaces. If you’re interested in some other ways to stay active, check out the list our Recreation Task Force has compiled on the city’s website.
Please continue to support and thank our healthcare workers on the front lines, they are doing an amazing job.
Remember we’re all in this together and it will take each one of us to keep our community healthy. Thank you for continuing to do what you can to keep everyone safe.
