Almost there! Ashley Meadows and Southern Lites are nearly ready for play
Playground installation at Ashley Meadows and Southern Lites Parks is nearing completion. The new equipment has successfully been installed at both locations and the all-weather rubber surfacing has been poured at Ashley Meadows Park. Currently, the surfacing material is undergoing its curing process, but once complete, crews will remove the perimeter fencing and the area will be available for public use. Rubber surfacing will be added to Southern Lites Park in the coming days, with full completion of any remaining work anticipated by end of the month. Stay tuned for additional updates as we get closer to unveiling the new spaces. Updated features are set to include ADA and all abilities options, with funding provided by Parks Levy dollars.

Visitors to these parks will notice fencing restricting access to the affected areas as current equipment is prepped for removal. Park goers may experience complete park closure at Ashley Meadows during demolition, but our team will ensure walking areas and other amenities are available as soon as possible. The playgrounds at both parks will remain off limits for now, with new equipment anticipated to be ready for play toward the end of summer.
Stay tuned for additional updates as we bring you more information about these exciting developments. As you may recall, new playground equipment, which was funded with the help of Parks Levy dollars, was most recently installed at Happy Valley and Village Green Parks. These updated features included ADA and all abilities options. Though the former structures at Ashley Meadows and Southern Lites Parks were functional, evaluations concluded they would soon need safety updates and additional repairs.
