Cultural Passes

The Cultural Pass program offers family passes to local cultural venues.

There is one pass for each venue, and they may be reserved in advance.

You will need a library card in good standing to check out a pass.

Reserve passes in person or by calling 503-783-3456. Passes may be borrowed for one day, except as noted. Pick pass up after 10:00am on the day of use. Return pass to the Happy Valley Library before midnight; pass may be left in the book drop after hours.

Family Cultural Pass program venues include:

Chinese Garden
2 adults and 2 children. Children under 5 are free.

The Garden of Awakening Orchids, Portland’s Lan Su Chinese Garden is located in the heart of the city in Chinatown. It has been called the most exquisite, authentic Suzhou-style garden ever built outside China.

Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden
Family of 4

More than 2,500 rhododendrons, azaleas, and companion plants make up the garden. Beginning in early spring and continuing into summer, they provide a magnificent display of color, giving visitors the opportunity to view many varieties rarely seen in the Pacific Northwest.

End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center
2 adults and 2 children

Relive Oregon’s rich history and get a glimpse into the life and times of those who traveled the Oregon Trail. The Interpretive Center features displays and videos depicting the lives of Oregon’s pioneers.

Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum
2 adults or 1 adult and 1 child (2-day pass)

Displays showcase aviation technology ranging from the Wright brothers to state of the art supersonic jets. Also on display is the original Spruce Goose, a massive airplane built of wood due to restrictions on metals during World War II.

Gilbert House Children’s Museum
5 people. Not valid for special events (2-day pass)

With the mission to “inspire children to learn through creative play”, the Gilbert House Children’s Museum provides exciting and interactive exhibits in all disciplines.

Japanese Garden
2 adults and all children in the same household

Proclaimed the most authentic Japanese garden outside of Japan, the Portland Japanese Garden is a 5.5-acre haven of tranquil beauty nestled in the scenic west hills of Portland, Oregon.

Oregon Garden
2 adults and 4 children (2-day pass)

The Oregon Garden showcases plant life from Oregon and around the Pacific Northwest. Featuring more than 20 specialty gardens such as the Amazing Water Garden, Children’s Garden, and Sensory Garden, this 80 acre destination caters to visitors of all ages.

Oregon Historical Society
2 adults and all children in the same household

Featuring exhibits showcasing Oregon’s history, The Oregon Historical Society Museum presents a fascinating perspective of the state’s past. The museum seeks to make Oregon’s history accessible to all. Come see collections highlighting more than 200 years of Oregon history.

Oregon State Parks
1 vehicle (2-day pass)

Park at over 20 Oregon State Parks using the Oregon State Parking Pass. See the full list of participating locations, including destinations in the Columbia Gorge, Oregon Coast, and other areas of the state.

Pittock Mansion
2 adults and 2 children

Built in 1914, the Pittock Mansion provides a glimpse into Portland’s growth and transformation around the turn of the century.
Portland Art Museum
2 adults for $5.00 each. Children 17 or younger are free
The Portland Art Museum features art from ancient times up through present day. It is the oldest museum in the Northwest and hosts a collection of over 42,000 objects.
The World of Speed Museum
2 adults or 1 adult and 1 child. Children 5 and under are free
The World of Speed Museum brings to life the history and culture of motorsports, through hands on and interactive displays. View historic through contemporary dragsters, stock cars, motorcycles, and other special exhibits.
