Youth Advisory Boards

Being a member of the Junior Advisory Board (JAB) or Teen Advisory Board (TAB) provides you with a chance to be creative, develop your leadership skills and help your library.
JAB (for 6th-8th graders) meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 5-6 pm. TAB (for 9th-12th graders) meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month from 5-6 pm.
To apply for either Board complete the application and return to the Library.
For more information, contact Anna Bruce at 503-783-3464 or annab@happyvalleyor.gov.

Teen Volunteers

Students in grades 6th-12th can volunteer at the Library, assisting behind the scenes with craft prep and projects and with Children’s programs as activity helpers. Most volunteering happens Saturday mornings or afternoons. Students must complete a volunteer application prior to volunteering. For more information, and a complete list of possible teen volunteer opportunities, please contact Youth Services at 503-783-3454 or youthlibrary@happyvalleyor.gov.

Teen Tutors

Students interested in participating in upcoming sessions are invited to submit an application.
Applications can be turned in for both teen volunteers (9-12th grade) and students (K-5th grade) for the Teen Tutors program. This program matches a teen volunteer as a reading buddy with a younger student for a weekly, 30-minute reading session. For more information, please contact library staff at 503-783-3454 or youthlibrary@happyvalleyor.gov
