Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Pride Month is celebrated each year in June to honor the Stonewall Uprising which occurred in late June of 1969. The purpose of the commemorative month is to recognize the impact that LGBTQ+ people have had throughout history and in the present day.
