Tree Lighting Ceremony - City of Happy Valley
Dark

Tree Lighting Ceremony

Sunday, Dec. 7th
Happy Valley City Hall
4pm – 6pm

Join us for this FREE, family-friendly outdoor event filled with festive cheer. Enjoy live musical performances, seasonal treats, and kids’ activities. Santa will be on hand for photos and, of course, to lead the countdown as we light the tree together. Stroll through community booths, sip hot cocoa, and share the holiday spirit with friends and neighbors. Presented by Happy Valley Parks and Recreation, this annual tradition is the perfect way to celebrate the season.

Please note, parking in the City Hall lot will be limited due to the nature of the event. Please plan on giving yourself extra time to park and please be considerate of residents when parking in nearby neighborhoods.

Are your children interested in writing a letter to Santa?

Santa has let us know how excited he is to receive your special letters. You will find the official North Pole mailbox inside City Hall, open Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm. Once you are done writing your letter, just drop it off in the designated mailbox and on its way to the North Pole it will go! Santa let us know that he plans to write a response to each letter he receives, so be sure to follow all the directions on the worksheet, so he can successfully send his reply. (Santa loves getting letters—but he can only reply if he can read the address!)

  • Please note: Santa’s mailbox will only be accepting letters between Dec. 1 – Dec. 12. The last bundle of mail to Santa will be picked up by 5pm on Friday, Dec. 12, so make sure your letters are submitted by the deadline. Kids can expect to hear back from Santa by Dec. 23.

Give the gift of hope this holiday season

For many, the holidays are some of the best times of the year, yet for some in our community, these celebrations are a reminder of serious financial hardship. If there is one thing that is certain, the community of Happy Valley is generous and eager to help those less fortunate experience a holiday season filled with hope. That’s where Operation Santa comes in. An annual toy and food drive, Operation Santa is coordinated through the efforts of firefighters at Clackamas Fire District #1. *Operation Santa will be collecting donations at Happy Valley City Hall on the day of the Tree Lighting Ceremony, Sunday December 7th, from 2pm – 6pm.

Looking for another way to give?

Through the Meals on Wheels People program, Happy Valley Parks and Recreation provides warm, nutritious meals to some of our community’s most vulnerable seniors while offering friendly visits to those who may otherwise feel isolated or have difficulty getting out and about.

Please consider donating to the City’s local Meals on Wheels People program by visiting the link below. From there, you can submit a tax-deductible donation in the amount of your choice online. Your gift will support homebound seniors right here in Happy Valley who would otherwise not have consistent access to wholesome, nutritious meals.
