Community Garden
Welcome to the Happy Valley Community Garden.
A community garden means different things to different people. For some, a community garden is a place to grow their own fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. For others, it is a place to reconnect with nature or a way to obtain some physical exercise. Regardless of why you choose to take part in a community garden, it comes with rewards and responsibilities.
The City of Happy Valley, through its Parks Advisory Committee, has established processes, procedures and a usage agreement for use of its community garden to ensure that all participants, park neighbors, and guests have a fruitful, enjoyable experience.
There is no fee for use. Monetary donations will be gladly accepted which will go towards deferring costs on the following:
- Irrigation water
- Chips/mulch/soil
- Fencing
- Garden plot repairs
The Community Garden is open for use from April 15th thru November 15th of each year. Submit your application at City Hall or via email.
Returning gardeners, in good standing, will be eligible for renewal of their garden plot; however, a renewal application must be submitted each year. Renewal applications can be submitted from February 1st through February 14th. If renewals are not received by February 15th, the garden plot will be made available to new applicants.
New applications can be submitted February 15th through March 15th or until all plots have been assigned.
