Oregon Gardens Day Trip – 4/19/24

Leave the driving to us! The group will meet at Happy Valley City Hall where participants can hop on the RecMobile to enjoy an adventurous day outside the valley at The Oregon Gardens! Escape into an 80-acre botanical garden, featuring more than 20 specialty gardens showcasing the diverse botanical beauty that can be found in the Willamette Valley and throughout the Pacific Northwest. Afterwards, we will head to the beautiful quaint town of Silverton for lunch at historic Mac’s Place for delicious lunch and beverages and a view of scenic Silver Creek on the outdoor heated deck.

Wahkeena Falls Hike

Wahkeena Falls Waterfall Loop Hike – 4/26/24

Leave the driving to us! The group will meet at Happy Valley City Hall where participants can join us for an adventurous day outside the valley into the Columbia River Gorge! Take in breathtaking views on this beautiful scenic hike that starts at the Wahkeena Falls Trailhead. This popular loop is a waterfall lover’s paradise – There are FIVE officially named waterfalls on this trip as well as countless cascades and intermittent falls. We will hike past Wahkeena Falls, Fairy Falls, Ecola Falls, Wiesendanger Falls, and last but not least the iconic Multnomah Falls.

Tom McCall Point Wildflower Hike – 5/10/24

The Tom McCall Point Trail offers exceptional views of the Columbia Gorge as well as Mount Adams and Mount Hood. When the spring wildflowers are in bloom, this is one of the most stunning vistas in the Gorge! Wildflowers like lupine, paint brush, fox glove, and wild rose, arrow root etc. can be viewed. Make sure to bring your camera! Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at Tom McCall Point OR bring some lunch money and save your appetite for our pit stop at Ferment Brewing in Hood River on the way back to town!

1yr 6mos to 3yrs 6mos – 10:00am-10:45am

My Gym in the Park Session 2: Parent & Me Class

Session 2: August 2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd

Your child will sing, dance, play games, watch puppet shows, and even have “Surprise Time!” Our youngsters feel great about themselves as they learn basic tumbling and sports skills in a fun and positive setting. Our curriculum keeps these active little ones engaged and captivated while improving their fine and gross motor proficiency and increasing strength and agility. Running, jumping, and spatial awareness are milestones in this program.

Some children may require grownup participation. In this program, you’ll see your child’s strength, flexibility, and agility increase as our teachers coach the kids through relays, fundamental gymnastics, and tumbling skills. Positive reinforcement abounds – and we promise your child will leave class with feelings of pride, accomplishment, and success!

Gain cooking skills and a better understanding of eating for health and wellness in this nutrition and food demonstration class series! DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) is an eating pattern that promotes overall health and wellness, as well as supports management of several chronic health conditions, including diabetes and hypertension. During this 4-week course, we will go over basic nutrition concepts for eating a healthier diet with emphasis on increasing fiber and plant-based foods, and ways to increase protein through a variety of sources.

Pet First Aid/CPR Training Course

Dogs are NOT allowed. Participants are encouraged to bring stuffed animals for the hands-on portion of the class. This class is part instruction and part hands-on skills. It teaches basic first aid and how to provide it to your dog as well as how to perform CPR. Participants will be instructed on different first aid techniques through a power point presentation followed by a hands-on practice portion of the class. Each participant will receive a pet first aid pocket-sized handbook to take home and practice gauze for the hands-on portion of class. They will walk away from this class with basic information on how to provide first aid to their pet in the case that they get injured.

Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Training

This in-person Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Training combines lecture with hands-on skills sessions. Students will learn how to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for victims.
