Snowshoe Mt. Hood – 1/20/24

Strap on your snowshoes and join Adventures Without Limits expert guides as they share their favorite trails and tricks and tips to getting outside in the winter. No experience necessary, just a sense of adventure and a love for being outdoors!
Carson Hot Springs & Backwood Brewing – 1/26/24
Carson Hot Springs 1930s bathhouse offers an authentic and traditional bathhouse experience with its clawfoot tubs and vintage stylings. The world-renowned mineral water is pumped directly into the tubs for an all-natural, healing bath. After soaking for 25 minutes, have a swaddling wrap cocoon you in warmth to purify and energize your cells while giving you a meditative rest. When your wrap is complete, dry off in the sauna to complete your spa experience! Afterward, our group will finish the day out at Backwoods Brewing for lunch.
Cooper Spur Snowshoe Tour & Tasting – 2/9/24
Join us for an adventurous day at Cooper Spur Mountain Resort located amid the magnificent Mt. Hood National Forest. We will start the day at the Nordic Center where everyone will get fitted with snowshoes before we head out on a guided tour through 6.5 kilometers of trails on varied terrain surrounded by pine trees and open meadows. Afterward, we’ll settle into the cozy, warmth of the Crooked Tree Tavern and Grill for a curated wine/beer tasting accompanied by a selection of local, small plates. Non-alcoholic drinks will be available as well.
Cross Country Ski Trip – 2/10/24
Escape into the snow-covered winter wonderland of Mount Hood National Forest to discover a world of tranquility and crisp winter air. Lace up your boots, strap in your skis and join Adventures Without Limits expert guides as they provide a lesson on cross country skiing and share a day full of adventures along their favorite trails. No experience necessary, just a sense of adventure and a love for being outdoors! *AWL provides all the equipment necessary, including winter attire upon request. Participants are asked to bring water, lunch, and appropriate clothing for the day.
Full Moon Snowshoe Tour – 2/24/24

Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance (Beginners) * VIRTUAL CLASS
This introductory class welcomes those wishing to learn the initial forms of the Tai Chi practice with a desire to gain confidence, stability, strength, and mobility in a fun and supportive environment. Class powered by Basecamp Prevention + Wellness, part of Providence Heart Institute.

Gentle Yoga * VIRTUAL CLASS

First Aid/CPR/AED Training
This in-person Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Training combines lecture with hands-on skills sessions. Students will learn how to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for victims.
Babysitter Training
This in-person babysitter class gives you access to child care information, tips and can answer all of your questions so that you’re ready to start babysitting! With lecture and engaging class activities, these courses are informative and fun.
Solstice Stars and Lanterns
Happy Valley Parks and Recreation is partnering with the Happy Valley Library for a Solstice Stars and Lantern Making event! Join us for a fun and communal activity that combines art and a sense of celebration. Get in touch with your creative side and mark the changing of the season in a meaningful way.
Teen Volunteer Party – Care Card Kit Making!
Calling all teens; we need your help! You’re invited to join us and the Happy Valley Library to put together a plethora of Valentine’s Day Care Card Kits. Kits will include Valentine’s Day card-making essentials from colored craft paper to doilies and sticker hearts! Kits will be available for community members to pick up in January for distribution to local senior living facilities in the Valley on Valentine’s Day. This event not only spreads love and cheer but also fosters a sense of community involvement among the participating teenagers, creating a heartwarming and meaningful experience for all.

Astronomy II: Stars and Galaxies
This evening astronomy course is taught by Derek Sears, an Emeritus professor and currently Senior Research Scientist at NASA. This is an adult course intended for those with no previous knowledge within a friendly, informal atmosphere. The course will be taught within a lecture and conversational format along with opportunities for stargazing at the end of each class. This in-depth 8-week course will focus on the stars and galaxies.
