Car Care Clinic

Calling all licensed drivers! Let our experts from Les Schwab & AAA, show you how to care for your vehicle!

We’re shifting gears and holding the door for all drivers at this year’s Car Care Clinic! Get ready to crack open the hood, uncover the spare tire, and find out what those pesky dash emojis are trying to say. Happy Valley Parks and Recreation is excited to offer a Car Care Clinic at City Hall this spring!

During the event, participants will encounter four informative stations, each designed to enhance their understanding of car maintenance and safety protocols. A Les Schwab tire technician will guide participants through tire care essentials, including pressure checks, tread depth assessments, and the art of changing a spare tire. A representative from AAA will help explain how to check and change vehicle fluids and will also show attendees how to decode dashboard warning lights and maintain their car’s battery health. Happy Valley Police will also be onsite, sharing indispensable road safety tips and answering drivers’ questions. This segment is especially beneficial for teen drivers and those seeking more personalized advice from traffic enforcement deputies. This Car Care Clinic will give teen drivers the confidence to maintain their cars while remaining safe and prepared on the road!

All licensed drivers are welcome. Permitted drivers may accompany a licensed driver. Pre-registration REQUIRED. Open to community residents. Participants will drive their own car through four different stations, learning about everything from tires and fluid checks to lights and road safety. Participants should anticipate completing all four stations in 1.5 hours.

Station #1 will take participants through checking tire pressure, tread depth and putting on a spare.

Station #2 will show participants where all their vehicle’s fluids are, and how to check and change them.

Station #3 will teach participants the meaning of warning lights on their dashboard, and everything they need to know about their car’s battery.

Station #4 will leave participants with road safety tips from Happy Valley Police Officers on how to be a safe driver.
