Step back in time with a special Drive-In Movie Night featuring Back to the Future! Join us at the future site of Happy Valley Community Park for an unforgettable evening under the stars. Enjoy classic theater snacks, non-alcoholic beverages, and a nostalgic movie experience while supporting the Happy Valley Parks and Recreation Foundation.

Celebrate the season at Happy Valley’s favorite fall tradition! Oktoberfest returns with live entertainment, delicious food, local vendors, family-friendly activities, and festive fun for all ages. Cheer on the crowd-favorite Wiener Dog Races, enjoy traditional German-inspired food and music, explore the pumpkin patch, and make lasting memories with friends and family. Whether you’re coming for the beer garden, the games, or the fall festivities, there’s something for everyone at Oktoberfest!

A Day at the Coast
October 14th, 8am-6pm
Sit back, enjoy the ride, and let us take you to Cannon Beach! Once we arrive, the day is yours to explore. Check out Haystack Rock, wander and shop around town, grab a bite to eat, or head down to the tide pools and learn more about the coastal creatures with the Haystack Rock Awareness Program. No set itinerary, just a day to enjoy the coast your way!
Adventures Without Limits: Fall Foliage Kayak Tour
Oct 3rd, 10am – 2pm
Paddle along calm flatwater, around rock islands, and through colorful autumn leaves as we meander up and down the Willamette. This trip is open to the public, inclusive, and accessible to people of all abilities. Adventures Without Limits specializes in creating a welcoming space for diverse sets of needs.
Field Trip Friday: Fraga Farmstead Creamery & Apolloni Vineyards
Oct 9th, 9:30am-4:30pm
Experience life on a working goat farm before unwinding in Oregon wine country! Meet the friendly goats at Fraga Farmstead Creamery, try your hand at milking a goat, and enjoy a delicious goat milk affogato before heading to Apolloni Vineyards for a relaxing wine tasting overlooking the vines.
Field Trip Friday: Haunted Shanghai Tunnels Tour
Oct 23rd, 4:45pm-9:15pm
Step beneath the streets of Portland for a fascinating journey through the city’s past on the Haunted Shanghai Tunnel Underground Tour. After exploring the tunnels and hearing stories of Portland’s history and legends, enjoy a beer tasting and dinner at the historic Old Town Pizza.
Field Trip Friday: Nights of the Golden Flower
Nov 6th, 3:30pm-7:45pm
Enjoy an evening of Chinese culture and cuisine with dinner at Xin Ding Dumpling House before exploring Lan Su Chinese Garden’s Nights of the Golden Flower festival. Wander through breathtaking chrysanthemum displays, illuminated lanterns, stop by the garden’s teahouse, and soak in the beauty of this one-of-a-kind cultural experience.
Field Trip Friday: Brew Lights at the Oregon Zoo
Nov 13th, 3:30pm -8:00pm
Back by popular demand! Enjoy VIP early entry to Brew Lights and experience the magic of ZooLights before the crowds arrive. Sip samples from local breweries, cideries, and distilleries while strolling through dazzling holiday light displays, then cap off the night with a ride aboard the illuminated zoo train.

ACTIVENet’s online and in-person registration portal will allow community members to conveniently access Happy Valley Parks and Recreation facility rentals, programs, activities, classes, and more from anywhere, anytime!
First AID/CPR/AED Training
Monday, Nov 9th, 9:30am-2:00pm
This in-person Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Training combines lecture with hands-on skills sessions. Students will learn how to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for victims. The skills you’ll learn during this class can make all the difference to someone in need.
Babysitter Training
Friday, October 9th, 9:30am-2:30pm
This in-person babysitter class gives you access to child care information, tips, and can answer all your questions so that you’re ready to start babysitting! With lecture and engaging class activates, these courses are informative and fun.
Astronomy I: The Planets
Sept 21st – Nov 9th, Mondays 7pm-8pm
Explore our place in the cosmos with retired NASA scientist Derek Sears and his wife, Hazel. Journey through our solar system, visiting Mercury, Venus, Earth and the Moon; asteroids, comets, and Pluto; and the giant planets Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Along the way, keep an eye on the night sky as the stars and constellations gradually shift with the seasons.
Ballroom Basics Dance Class
Step into the world of partner dance in a welcoming and supportive environment. Designed for beginners, this class introduces simple patterns, foundational steps, and rhythm across classic ballroom styles like waltz, foxtrot, and swing.

Tippi Toes Dance Classes

Explore our dance class options for girls and boys age 18 months – 11 years. Students are encouraged and celebrated while being taught the fundamentals of dance! Choose from the following programs below:
Toddler and Me – Ages 18 months – 3yrs
Ballet, Tap and Jazz – Ages 3- 8yrs
Yoga Classes
A gentle introduction to yoga to improve balance, flexibility, and strength without the use of a mat. Chair Yoga works the whole body with a mixture of stretching, yoga, and calisthenics. These in-person series are ideal for those that have mobility issues or have never tried yoga before. Hatha Yoga focuses on traditional yoga postures practiced at a slower, steady pace, with time to settle into each pose and explore proper alignment. Breathwork is an essential part of the practice, helping calm the mind, reduce stress, and support a deeper physical experience.
