Citations

It is the City policy to provide you with the opportunity to correct all issues before we pursue formal enforcement actions. If a code violation case gets to the point of a citation, the responsible party/property owner may be issued an Oregon Uniform Citation and Compliant. Once this happens, the person receiving the citation is required to appear in court on the date given on the citation.

If, after judicial proceedings, a defendant is found to be guilty of violating the municipal ordinance, the judge may impose a civil penalty similar to a fine.

Abatement

At any time, the City may post a notice to abate, at which time the City will make arrangements to have the code violation resolved, at the expense of the responsible party.
