Requirements to be an eligible candidate: You must live in Happy Valley, be entering freshman through junior year during the 2026–2027 school year, and submit your completed application by Wednesday, May 13th at 5pm. AND you must attend the May 20th New Candidate Interviews (evening) at City Hall. Once your application is received and reviewed, you will receive your instructions and selected time of interview.

Finally, you will be required to speak at the May 20th interview. Two minutes maximum will be allotted for each speech. The speech does not have to be memorized as notes are allowed. This will help the Youth Councilors get to know you better. In the speech, please tell about yourself, about what you have done in the past, and what you plan to do in the future if you are elected a Youth Councilor.
