Thank you, Public Works!

City’s Public Works staff receive praise from Council.

As Public Works Week approaches, we want to say thank you to this team for their tireless work and commitment. The Public Works Department is a vital part of our city, and we are grateful for the significant work these employees do all year long.

Public Works has a challenging job, and their work is frequently overlooked by the public. This team helps to keep our roads and parks clean and safe, and they help to make sure our city facilities function properly. On any given day, there are projects throughout the City that this team is planning for, working on, or finishing up.

We are particularly grateful to Public Works for their work to help protect our City during winter storms. This team operates day and night to remove the snow and ice from our streets and keeps the entrances to public buildings clear. They ensure that main streets are accessible for first responders and communicate regularly with Community Service Officers as members of the Public Safety Team.

The work of this team is valued and appreciated by us, the City Council, and we know this sentiment is shared by the entire community. Often the unsung heroes of Happy Valley, we are fortunate to have a Public Works team that consistently keeps things running smoothly. Thank you for your ongoing service and dedication to our city.

Please consider joining us at the community event highlighting the work of Public Works on Wednesday, May 22.
