Pools, Hot Tubs, and Spas

There are a few things you should consider when planning for a new pool, hot tub, or spa:

• A swimming pool, hot tub, or spa may be located within a side or rear yard behind the rear building line provided it is no closer than five feet to the property line.
• Though permits are required from the Building Division, review by the Planning Division is only required if the pool, hot tub, or spa is located in an environmentally sensitive area such as near a stream, wetland, slope, or landslide.
• Check your title and plat to verify if there are any easements or utilities that would limit the location on your property.
