This morning, Chief Rich Sheldon and Traffic Deputy Alex Mazhnikov had the pleasure of visiting the kindergarten classes at Happy Valley Elementary School. As part of the grade’s Community Helper unit, they had the opportunity to share with the kids some insights into their roles, the tools they use, and the training they undergo. The students asked LOTS of questions and even had a chance to explore Deputy Mazhnikov’s police car and gadgets. For Chief Sheldon and Deputy Mazhnikov, the visit was a rewarding opportunity to engage with some of our youngest community members.
These visits are just one of the many ways Happy Valley Police stay connected to our local schools and foster familiarity in the community.
