Camp Withycombe/Oregon Military Museum

The approximately 224 gross-acre Camp Withycombe is owned and operated by the Oregon Military Department (a state agency) and has been an active military training site since 1908. It is currently home to several Oregon Army National Guard military units under the jurisdiction of federal and state military authorities.  The site contains historic military structures and has had a military armory since 1956.  It is home to military residences; maintenance, logistics and warehousing buildings; a readiness training center; corporate headquarters of the 41st Brigade; and, associated parking and other uses.  In addition, a military museum is within the Camp.  The City of Happy Valley has worked hard toward developing strong relationships with the Camp, military reservists and their families.  The confidence of the Oregon Military Department in the City is reflected by their annexation within the city limits.

The City and Camp Withycombe have a community partnership that focuses on the importance of supporting veterans and active military. Throughout the year, Camp Withycombe provides support of such City efforts as the 4th of July Family Festival, National Night Out, and a variety of other endeavors that help highlight the brave men and women who so selfishly serve our county. In exchange, the City has made a point to host Camp Withycombe’s annual family picnic, a special event aimed at honoring our local heros.
