Prescription Drop Box
Did you know that outdated and unneeded medications are both a safety and environmental hazard?
Expired or unused prescriptions and over-the-counter medications can result in accidental poisonings or overdoses. Improper disposal of medications, either by flushing them away or throwing them in the garbage, can present a threat to our water supplies.
The City’s Youth Council also holds bi-annual Rx Turn-In events in conjunction with the nationwide effort led by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for easy drive-by and drop-off of these items.
A permanent prescription drop-box is located at the Happy Valley Police Department for safe disposal of unwanted or expired prescriptions and medications.
